I was informed today by the Simon Kenton Pathfinders (Ms. Nancy Baldwin - President) that they are paying to have the trail sealed. Here is her email to me below.
 
"Just to let you know we are going to be closing the Simon Kenton Trail, Champaign County part from County Line Road north to State Route 55 on August 7~8, weather permitting.  We (SKP) have hired a paving crew to seal coat the trail.  We finally raise the money to do it.  No county $$$ in this project.

September 10 is our annual fundraiser. The Simon Kenton Bike Tour. Forms are on the website.  We will have registration at the DEPOT!!! (CLAP CLAP).
It is not done but is getting closer.  Doors and trim are the last things to do.  Restoration has started. I will get you updated as soon as I can."
