FMCPT Members and friends:
Spring is here again to
start another great season to use our beautiful new trail! To
kick-off this season, FMCPT will be participating in the London First
Friday event on May 5th from 5 pm until 9 pm. The theme for this
event is Outdoor Recreation. The location will be on 2nd Street
between Oak Street and the alley east of Main Street. That
section of 2nd Street will be close to traffic during that
period. Traffic on Main Street will be maintained.
The City is arranging for
refreshments and entertainment. Current plans call for a Bicycle
Rodeo on the city parking lot at Oak and 2nd Street. Our new
Trail Sentinels will inspect the bikes before riders can participate in
the rodeo. FMCPT will have an Informational Booth at the lot to
talk with people that want to know more about the trail through Madison
County. In addition to this, some folks plan to bring their
antique or unusual bikes to the area to ride or explain their
uniqueness to interested people.
I would like to invite all
of you to attend the event to support our downtown area of
London. If you would like to bring your tandem or recumbent
bike to the event and/or assist at the Informational Booth, that would
be most appreciated. If you have any questions, please let me
know.
I hope you
will participate in, or attend this event. We would like to
see you and have a chance to chat.
Sincerely Yours,
Wayne Roberts, president
